Brisbane based Record Holdings has been named among Australia’s top innovators for its world-leading court-reporting technology.

Business Review Weekly has named Record Holdings – the parent company of court transcription service provider Auscript and technology developer For The Record (FTR) – among Australia’s 50 most innovative companies of 2014 for its Court.fm product.Court.fm gives judges and legal professionals in courts around the world instant, secure access to recordings of trials and hearings.  Auscript and FTR developed Court.fm in response to a growing need among legal professionals for urgent access to court recordings. After being launched in 2013, Court.fm is now used in courts around the world, including the Family Court of Australia, the Federal Circuit Court and all Queensland State Courts.

It gives users, including the Judiciary and parties, access to high-quality court recordings within minutes of the spoken word.  Recordings can be searched and played back in any browser or mobile device, and areas of interest in the recording can be flagged for later review.Record Holdings CEO Peter Wyatt said the BRW listing recognised the high degree of technological innovation currently taking place in Queensland.

“Through its contract with the Queensland Department of Justice and Attorney-General and other Commonwealth and Federal Jurisdictions, Auscript is providing court transcripts faster and more accurately than ever before, and saving taxpayers many millions of dollars in the process,” Mr Wyatt said.

“Auscript is also providing these services for the majority of Federal and interstate courts.  We’re able to do this because of the innovation in the recording and data-handling technology, which is taking place in FTR’s FTR Labs facility right here in Brisbane.

“And we are now making the secure, real-time technology at the heart of this system available to export clients around the world, through the Court.fm product.

“We are delighted that BRW has recognised the global firsts that are taking place here in Australia.”
